The Importance of Daily & Weekly Resolutions

Forget New Year’s resolutions for a second…….

Let’s get practical: How about this year you set realistic daily and weekly resolutions instead of ones you want to accomplish by the end of the year. I'm just as guilty and I know how it works - every year I find myself saying the same thing... “this year I will finally hit the gym more," or any other number of tasks I want to improve on. I always tell myself that I have all the “time” in the world to make it happen. However, I find that my resolutions never really become a priority. I find myself making excuse after excuse. So I started to wonder... what would push me to actually make these resolutions attainable?

Do you keep telling yourself, “this will be the year that I will get out of the job I can’t stand"…or “this year will be finally my year to be happy.” Are you still in the same boat? What has changed for you? You have to start somewhere. As the saying goes “Rome was not built in a day.” Same for you: it is the process, the baby steps that lead to the big accomplished goal(s).

So as daunting as it seems: make it less daunting. How? I’m an advocate of writing things down and visualizing it.

Set daily or even weekly goals to set you up for success as you work towards your big goals. Whether it be in the work place or in your personal life.
